Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer - Review

Hello Everyone!
Last week I started my third term of year 11 and also my last term, although I am super excited I’m almost in my last year of school but one problem that is ongoing is dark circles due to the lack of sleep I have from late nights of study sessions and finishing homework and what not.
So I was on a mission to find a cheap concealer/highlighter, I searched through the whole make-up department in Priceline and couldn’t find one that interested me – until my eyes fell on this…
What is says?
A two in one concealer and highlighter that adapts to your skin tone, the shade I have is 010 Ivory which is also the lightest shade which I found a great match to my skin tone. It also claims to banish signs of fatigue and illuminate the eye area, with an oxygen complex.
*the above picture towards the right of the swatch the concealer has been rubbed in which shows how great a match it is.
I bought this for AUD $13 from K-mart but it can be found anywhere Rimmel is available.
I feel that this product is reasonably good – but not great… Personally on my skin it doesn’t do an amazing job at covering my dark circles and is a light to medium coverage on small spots that aren’t overly red. I was mainly intrigued by the applicator, I’m not even sure as to what it’s called but once using it I realised its nothing to fancy. Even though this shade was a pretty good match for my skin tone it wouldn’t be great for anyone with skin lighter than me, maybe at concealing spots but it definitely wouldn’t do any highlighting.

I probably wouldn’t recommend this product, it had quite a dry formula that wasn’t easy to blend and you had to use pressure for it to rub into the skin which isn’t something you are going to want to be doing to your skin… Tugging at it will eventually promote wrinkles, but with saying that... I will still continue to use this product and just because it doesn't suit my skin as much as other concealers this concealer might be perfect for you!
I would rate this product two and a half maybe three stars.

S.S.secret post no.4

Hello Everyone!
Today's post is going to be my fourth
S.S.secret post -
what is this? Click HERE

As some of my followers may know, I live in Sydney, Australia and at the moment it is winter and quite chilly, In winter my skin switches from being combination/ slightly oily to being more on the dry side. It becomes slightly dehydrated and is super hard to bring it back to its healthy, hydrated glow.

Recently I've discovered a few things that have definitely made a difference to my winter skin.

Firstly, I have some all over body creams, on the left I have my NUSKIN intense body moisturiser. This product comes in quite a nice sized bottle and the cream itself is fragrance free. It's definitely more of a thinner and lighter cream compared to the one on the right.
On the right I have my Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E. It claims that it soften, smoothes and relieves dry skin. It definitely does the job but I'm not too keen on the scent, some people may like it but I am not one of those people. It's quite a thicker product and leaves my hands greasy so I have to thoroughly wash and dry them.

My next two products are a signature body lotion and an epoch mud mask.
The signature body lotion is extremely moisturising and works so well on my legs, elbows and anywhere I slap it on. It feels like a luxurious cream.
Next is the epoch Glacial Marine Mud mask. I love this product, I use it all year around and am truly dreading the day it runs out. Because I have bigger pores I love a mud mask to tighten up and help make the pores smaller. It also makes my face feel as smooth as a baby's bum and doesn't dry my skin out as much as I would expect.

My last four products include a NU SKIN moisture restore intense moisturiser, this product is PERFECT for a night face cream when you're feeling slightly dry and dehydrated. Next I have a Spoilt Rotten Hand Lotion, I love a good Hand moisturiser right before bed so that I wake up with smooth and soft hands. My next product which has definitely been on my blog before is the Michael Todd Moisture Lite non-oily hydrating lotion. This product honestly smells so amazing, whenever I put it on it's like putting a lemon cheesecake all over my face... Not the texture but it sure does smell like it. And I'm a true sucker for anything lemon... Last of all I have the common Lucas Papaw ointent, I love this product for my lips but it can be versatile, I've used it at night whilst on holidays and I've gotten a little sunburnt on the nose or when I nick myself with the hair straightener or hair curler and can't find burn cream. It really heals anything!

This kit is definitely not complete, I've got my eye on a couple more products but I'm just waiting to save up my $$$ and purchase them... 'When I have I'll be sure to update you all on them and give them a full review.

S.S.secret post no.3

Hello Everyone!
Today's post is going to be my second
S.S.secret post -
what is this? Click HERE

Todays post is super exciting, I have a very mini haul from Priceline. Priceline is just your typical drugstore like Boots with everything beauty you could want.

I didn't but too much as I'm a student with basically no income so I can't afford very much. These products were little gifts for myself!

So, above is everything I bought, a lot of it was on sale which was pretty great!
Quickly I'll just mention the batiste dry shampoo... I have a full review here.

My next product is the Rimmel Apocalips lip laquer in Celestial. I wanted a few different shades but so many were sold out... These only just made their way to stores in Australia and we still don't have the full colour range unlike the UK. I'm not too impressed that I couldn't get the shades Luna and Big Bang.

The colour I've picked is a dusty, rose pink shade which I adore, the left is the product swiped and on the right is the product smudged out.

Next we have The Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I love this brush. I'm not sure if its better than my Real Techniques Buffing Brush but it's dam good and It gives my the most flawless base, I use this brush when I want a lighter coverage.

Here I have another product that only just arrived in Australia, the Maybelline Mega Plush mascara in very black. To be extremely honest I don't love this mascara, I like it but definitely don't love it. It hardly gives any volume and a little bit of length. Others may like it as mascara is the type of thing where everyone different. I still like it to use as a first coat as It's waterproof, will probably be saving this mascara for more natural days.

Last of all I have a new nail polish from Rimmel (Rimmel had everything half price!) a 60 seconds nail polish in instyle coral. I love this shade, its extrememly beautiful and definitely a Tasma colour!

What nail polish colour would you be??

Manicure Monday #7

Hello Everyone!
It's Manicure Monday again - what is it?
Click HERE

For todays weekly nail I haven't got a new polish but instead I've decided to do a post on a couple nail looks that I'm currently obsessed with and they're all from a lovely website called Bellashoot

The first nail style I am loving at the moment is glossy block colours, especially pink (and I love a little bit of green...) The post below can be found alongside some other lovely nail ideas here.

The next nail trend would be nail art! I'm definitely not a nail artist but my sister is pretty good, whenever I need a little bit of nail jazzing I ask her. To find more pic's like this one click on this.

The picture below would have to be one of my go-to nails, except I would prefer a warm toned colour and a bit of glitter where the blue is placed. Find this here.

Last but not least, I cant turn away a baby pink with some beautiful rainbow colours sprinkled throughout. This is honestly too lovely to even talk about... But I guess I should tell you where to find more of this??? here.

Todays topic will be TONER!

What is toner?

Typically know as a lotion that is designed to cleanse the skin and remove anything left over after cleansing, it also is meant to shrink the appearance of pores. Toner is the product that everyone knows as the product you use after cleansing but before moisturising.

How do I apply it?

Using a make-up remover pad to wipe over the face usually in the t-zone area but can be place all over the face.
Another option is to spray it onto the face if the product has that option.

What types of toners are there?

Skin Bracers or fresheners - These are the mildest from of toners and contain virtually no alcohol but have water and glycerine. Glycerine helps to keep the moisture in the upper layers of the epidermis. For example rosewater toners would fall into this bracket. If you have dry/dehydrated, sensitive or normal skin then this toner would be ideal.
The higher end product can be bought - here

The cheaper product can be found - here

Skin tonics -  Are slightly stronger and have a small amount of alcohol, water and another ingredient to keep the moisture in the upper layers on the skin. Orange flower water would be an example for this and is recommended to people with skin that's normal, combination and oily.

The expensive choice - here

The cheaper product - here

Astringents - Are the strongest type of toner and have a lot of alcohol, antiseptics, water and as always an ingredient to lock moisture into the skin. People who have oily skin are perfect for this product as these toners are drying to the skin.

FIT ME! - Maybelline Products

Hello Everyone!

How is everyone? Lately I've been seeing a lot of advertising on Maybelline's FIT me products. I have had these products for quite a while and haven't used them for at least a month so I've decided to give them a try again to see how they felt. Except for the concealer, I've always loved and used it but am definitely in the market for something even better, suggestions would be appreciated!

So lets dive in, the colour I have in 210 sandy beige is definitely too dark for me at the moment as I bought this specifically for my face when its tan, It's quite a sheer and lightweight foundation that I would recommend for people who like a lighter coverage or its the season of Summer.

Personally, I would say that this foundation would be preferred by people without acne scaring or any acne as it has a bit of shimmer in it which may look as if they have more pimples than it really does. Although, after saying this the shimmer can easily be taken away with the powder, so don't worry too much! But it's definitely not a matte foundation.

The powder isn't my favourite powder but it does the job, there are also 12 shades but I have the colour 220 natural beige, I think I would have preferred to get the lightest colour and use it as a more of a translucent powder. It does the job of stopping oil coming through but rubs off quicker than most powders especially on the T-zone. The casing is pretty great, as you open it the powder is shown but then you can flip that part over to show a pretty reasonable sized mirror and powder puff.

When it comes to concealer there are 6 shades, I have the shade 10 Light, which is the lightest shade but really, it isn't that light especially since I haven't got very fair skin. It's a pretty great concealer in all honestly but its definitely probably not the best for people with lighter skin as they would need a light colour to brighten the eyes! For the moment it's probably a good match to my skin but I'd love to get one in a lighter shade to brighten underneath my eyes.

The FITme range also include a blush and bronzer but I don't own these.
I would love to hear any feedback on this post?

Maybelline Colour Tattoo By Eyestudio - Bad to the Bronze

Hello Everyone!
Todays post is a little bit of a follow on from yesterdays Beauty Enhancers. Go read what this post is all about here.

I'm going to be giving a little review on a Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr in the colour Bad to the Bronze.

They're a truly lovely product, every girl should own one of these lovely products as you can apply them so easily as eyeshadow bases or just eyeshadows for a quick day look. I'm definitely going to be buying some more of these creamy eyeshadows.

I love this colour so much! It's extremely lovely but I think it looks nicer on fair skin, on myself I had to pack it on do it to look dramatic but otherwise it's a lovely everyday colour. I usually add a brown or gold eye shadow in the crease to add dimension.

Beauty Enhancing #1

Hello Everyone!

As it is the first of July and I don't have any June favourites to post I've decided to put up a new feature of my blog which has been inspired by other bloggers where they post about the products on their face. Basically an everyday make-up.
I will be showing you my everyday make-up products, The reason for this is so that I can show you what products I'm using and loving this month. And hopefully some of you can recommend some of the products you all love.
I've decided to call this feature Beauty Enhancing, the whole idea behind this is that everyone has beauty inside and out, but we all just use make-up to feel better about ourselves NOT because it makes you beautiful, although it does make us look better I think it's ideal that everyone is self confident in not having to ALWAYS wear make-up, I will be posting the make-up products I am using on the first of every month.

The above products include my favourite four brushes, a thin lizzy brush, real techniques buffing brush, real techniques contour brush and a real techniques deluxe crease brush. Eyelash curlers and my Maybelline the falsies. A Maybelline Baby lips to moisturise and a Nivea pink pearl shine on top. Lastly a Colour Tattoo I recently bought in Bad to the Bronze, review coming soon.

The face consist of my Loreal True Match foundation in N2 Vanilla, a Maybelline Fit Me concealer in no.10, my beloved Rimmel Sat Matte transparent powder and an almost empty Thin Lizzy 6 in 1 professional powder in Light.

On the eyes I also forgot to include I used a gold eye shadow from my Sedona Lace palette here.
